Rock and Roll

Bilk

Always liked this group, and happy to see they are slowly coming back.

What I mean by that is there was there was a sort of ‘gap’ between the release of the album “Essex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll” in January 2025, and the single “Do Ya Want It” in June 2026.

And, yes, that’s a bit of a gap, as the English would say.

With this one they seem to be moving in, maybe could call it a curved direction.

Sure this it sounds like (don’t say it), only it does stand as a great rock song all by itself.

Fun

The Big Moon

A very summer song, one to listen to out of the heat.

The Big Moon are a British indie-rock four-piece from London, that formed in 2014.

I first came across them in 2022, with ‘Trouble’, which I first heard as a single and which was then included in the album “Here is Everything”, released in October of the same year.

Great music.

Bullet Train

DICE

My selection from their newly released album ‘I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View’.

DICE are indie rock group from Perth, Western Australia, with this being their second album after ‘Midnight Zoo’ from August 2024.

Another group I had yet to come across, and that was pulled out by the music release agent.

More great Surf Rock.

Kick in the Shins

Radio Free Alice

Sometimes the new-release-agent only throws up songs at a later date, and in the case of this one, nearly 3 weeks after.

Which is fine, as do we care if it’s late!

I missed out on their EP ‘Radio Free Alice’ back in November 2023, because, why? Not sure. Let’s just blame it on Spotify.

These guys are everything you want to hear from an Australian indie-rock band.

And they are do a Euro tour

Let Me Burn

Kyla-Belle

Not being a huge fan of country music, Australian or otherwise, I would have passed on the artist.

Only this song is “the song is a step into a new era of her career" and in her words "influenced by a different perspective towards music".

As a contrast, listen to her ‘Took A Turn’, song with the rapper Nooky
